VENETO
And its Foreign Trade Centre
Determination and enthusiasm for enterprise: this spirit
has made Veneto a model of good business practice throughout
the world. This 18.365 sq. km. region located in northeastern
Italy, considered beautiful for its natural environment
and picturesque old town centres, is the setting for
a flourishing business community unrivalled in Italy
and remarkable even by European standards.
With just 4,5 million inhabitants, the region boasts
more than 450.000 companies, mostly small and medium-sized,
and these account for more than 14% of Italian national
exports throughout the world.
Against this dynamic and forward-looking socio-economic
backdrop, the Veneto Foreign Trade Centre operates as
a service agency with the role of promoting the regional
business community.
The Foreign Trade Centre was set up and founded by the
seven Chambers of Commerce of the Veneto Region and
is supported by the Regional Government. During more
than thirty years of activity, it has made contacts
and fostered co-operation with all the major areas of
the global market.
Located at the centre of a veritable web of institutions
and economic organizations that work outwards from regional
to national and world level, its main goal is to internationalise
Veneto companies and set up international co-operation
projects.
The foreign Trade Centre uses its knowledge of the various
legal and financial resources available from the Veneto
Region, the Italian Government and the European Commission
and secures advantageous terms with numerous foreign
organisations and institutions to intensify trade between
Veneto and the rest of the world.
As promoter of the active internationalisation of the
Veneto business system, the Foreign Trade Centre encourages
companies to specialise but also to be flexible in order
to adapt to different business trends on a domestic
as well as an international level.
